Privacy policy
Short version: what you type into the generator never leaves your device.
Data you enter into the generator#
Links, network names, Wi-Fi passwords, contact details and any other text you enter are processed entirely by JavaScript running in your browser. That content is not transmitted to us, not logged, and not stored on any server. Closing the tab discards it. Downloaded PNG and SVG files are produced locally by your own device.
Information collected automatically#
Our hosting provider, Hostinger, records standard web server logs when a page is requested, which may include your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, your browser user agent and the referring page. These logs are used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse or errors. They are not used to build a profile of you. Hostinger acts as our processor under a data processing agreement and is the only third party that handles data on our behalf.
Cookies#
The generator itself does not set cookies and does not use local storage to track you. If we later add analytics or advertising that involves cookies, this policy will be updated before that happens and the change will be reflected in the date below.
Third parties#
There are none. Every asset on this site — fonts, styles, scripts and images — is served from qr-tag-generator.com. Loading a page here does not send your IP address or browsing activity to a font service, a CDN, an analytics company or an advertising network. We have no third-party processors receiving personal data from the site.
Cookies and browser storage#
The site sets no cookies and writes nothing to local or session storage. The Cookie Policy covers this in full.
Legal bases for processing#
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our processing of server log data rests on our legitimate interests in keeping the service running, secure and free from abuse. Processing of any email you send us rests on our legitimate interest in responding to you. We do not rely on consent, because we do not carry out any processing that requires it, and we do not process special category data.
How long we keep things#
Server logs are kept only as long as they are useful for security and diagnostics, typically a matter of weeks, and are then discarded. Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter and any follow-up. Content entered into the generator is not retained at all, because it is never received.
International transfers#
Our hosting provider may process server logs on infrastructure outside your country. Where personal data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, it is done under an appropriate safeguard such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Complaints#
If you think we have handled your personal data improperly, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority for the country where you live or work — in the United Kingdom that is the Information Commissioner’s Office, and in the EEA it is your national supervisory authority.
Automated decision-making#
We carry out no automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Data breaches#
If a breach affecting personal data occurs and is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, and tell affected people directly where the risk is high.
Your rights#
If you are in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or another region with comparable data protection law, you have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction and objection in relation to personal data we hold about you. Because the generator holds nothing, in practice this applies only to server logs and to any email you have sent us.
Data controller#
The data controller is QR Tag Generator, the operator of qr-tag-generator.com. To exercise any of the rights above, or to ask a question about this policy, write to contact@qr-tag-generator.com and we will respond within one month.
We have not appointed a statutory Data Protection Officer, because the nature and scale of our processing does not require one. If you need our full registered details for a formal request or a regulatory matter, ask at the same address and we will provide them.
Children#
This site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
