What a cookie is#

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Cookies are how sites keep you logged in, remember preferences, and — most often — how advertising networks recognise the same person across different websites.

What this site uses#

None of it. Specifically, QR Tag Generator sets no cookies, writes nothing to local storage or session storage, uses no tracking pixels, fingerprinting or beacons, and runs no analytics package. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Everything the generator needs exists only while the page is open, in the browser tab’s memory. Close the tab and it is gone. This is also why the site cannot remember your last code or your colour choice between visits — a deliberate trade of convenience for having nothing to store.

No third-party requests#

The page loads only from this domain. Fonts, styles, scripts and images are all served from qr-tag-generator.com rather than a CDN or a font service, so loading a page does not disclose your IP address or browsing to any other company. This matters more than it sounds: embedding fonts or scripts from a third party transfers visitor data to that third party on every page load, whether or not any cookie is involved.

Server logs are not cookies#

Our hosting provider records ordinary web server logs — IP address, page requested, time, user agent, referrer — as almost every web server does. That is a record of a request, not a cookie, and it is not used to identify you or to build a profile. The Privacy Policy covers it.

Controlling cookies generally#

Nothing here needs blocking, but for other sites every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies from its privacy or site-settings screen, and offers a private browsing mode that discards them when you close the window. Blocking cookies site-wide will not affect anything on qr-tag-generator.com.

If this changes#

If we ever add analytics, advertising or a feature that needs to remember something between visits, we will update this page and the Privacy Policy before switching it on, name the specific cookies and their purpose and lifetime, and where the law requires consent we will ask for it properly rather than assuming it from continued use.
