About QR Tag Generator

QR Tag Generator makes QR codes in your browser and gets out of the way.

Most free QR generators want an account before they will give you a file, add a watermark, or route your code through their own redirect so it stops working when they change their pricing. Several of them post whatever you type — including Wi-Fi passwords — to a server in order to draw a picture that your own device is perfectly capable of drawing.

This site does none of that. The encoder is JavaScript that runs on your machine. It builds the module grid, calculates the Reed–Solomon error correction and hands you a PNG or an SVG. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and there is nothing to sign up for.

What you get#

• Static codes that contain their own content, so they cannot be switched off later
• Print-ready SVG output as well as PNG, at up to 2048 px
• Control over error correction, so codes can survive being scuffed or partly covered
• No watermark, no attribution requirement and no limit on commercial use

The trade-off worth knowing#

Because these codes are static, you cannot change where one points after it is printed, and there are no scan statistics. That is the price of a code with no dependency on us. If you need editable destinations or analytics, you need a dynamic code, which by definition means a redirect owned by somebody. When we add that, it will be clearly marked as a different kind of thing.
