# Terms of service

Use the site, keep the codes, do not use them to harm people.

## Who we are

## Using the site

QR Tag Generator is provided free of charge for personal and commercial use. No account is required. You may use it as much as you like, provided you do not attempt to disrupt the service or use automated means to place unreasonable load on it.

## Codes you create

You own the QR codes you generate here. You may use, modify, print, sell and distribute them without attribution, licence fee or any further permission from us. A QR code is a functional encoding of content you supplied, and we claim no rights over it.

## What you are responsible for

You are responsible for the content you encode and for where the codes end up. You agree not to use this site to create codes that link to malware, phishing pages or other fraudulent material, that harass or endanger anyone, or that break the law in your jurisdiction. Placing a QR code over another organisation’s code in order to redirect payments is fraud, and this tool is not to be used for it.

## Verify before you print

Always scan a generated code before committing it to a print run, signage or packaging. We provide the encoder in good faith and test it against independent decoders, but scanning depends on print quality, size, contrast, materials, lighting and the scanning device, none of which we control.

## No warranty

The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error free, or that any given code will be readable by any given device.

## Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of this site, including costs arising from reprinting materials. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

## Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. These terms were last updated on 2026-09-08.

## Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss or cost arising from your misuse of this site or from the content you encode, including any claim brought by a third party in relation to where your codes lead.

## Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which we are established. If you are a consumer, nothing here deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country, or of your right to bring proceedings in your local courts. Because the service is free and nothing you enter reaches us, disputes of any substance are unlikely, but if one arises we will try to resolve it directly first — write to `contact@qr-tag-generator.com`.

## Severability

If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force, and the unenforceable provision is to be read as narrowly as necessary to make it enforceable.
