# Disclosure

A free tool usually earns its money somewhere. Here is exactly where this one does and does not.

## How this site is funded today

It is not. QR Tag Generator currently carries no advertising, no affiliate links, no sponsored posts, no paid product placements and no referral arrangements. Nobody has paid to be mentioned, recommended or ranked anywhere on this site. Running costs are a domain and static hosting, which are small because there is no server-side processing to pay for — the codes are built on your device.

## We do not sell data

We do not sell, rent, share or broker personal information, and we have no arrangements with data brokers or advertising networks. There is very little to sell in any case: the content you type into the generator never reaches us. See the [Privacy Policy](https://qr-tag-generator.com/privacy-policy/) for the detail.

## Why this page exists

Most free QR generators fund themselves in ways that are not obvious from the front page — routing your codes through a redirect they own so they can meter or resell the traffic, requiring an account to download a file, or placing affiliate links in their guides. Those are legitimate business models, but you should be able to find out which one applies before you print a code that depends on it. So this page states ours plainly.

## If this changes

It may. If we introduce advertising, affiliate links, sponsorship or a paid tier, we will update this page before or at the same time as the change, not afterwards, and we will label the relevant content where it appears rather than relying on you having read this page. Specifically:

- Affiliate or referral links would be marked as such at the point of the link.

- Sponsored or paid content would be labelled at the top of the page it appears on.

- Advertising, analytics or anything else that sets cookies would be described in the [Cookie Policy](https://qr-tag-generator.com/cookie-policy/) and the Privacy Policy first.

- Recommendations would still be made on the merits. We would not accept payment to change what we recommend.

## Editorial independence

Where our guides compare approaches or mention other tools and services, those mentions are unpaid and reflect our own view. If that ever stops being true, this page and the page in question will say so.
